RIP.ie has launched its first podcast, Parting Words, to mark its 20-year anniversary and explore "love, loss, and the stories that stay with us".

The organisation said the six-part series opens up honest conversations about grief, remembrance, and the enduring bonds that shape our lives.

RIP.ie has been a space for sharing notices, condolences, memories, and tributes for 20 years now, and the organisation said the launch of Parting Words marks a significant new chapter, expanding the platform’s mission into audio storytelling.

Hosted by broadcaster Muireann O’Connell, the monthly series features intimate conversations with well-known Irish voices who share their personal experiences of grief with honesty, humour, and heart.

The debut episode features radio presenter Colm Hayes, who reflects on the life of his beloved wife, Anne, who passed away in 2025 after a six-year battle with breast cancer.

Season One features an impressive lineup of Irish guests including Miriam O’Callaghan, Jacqui Hurley, Darragh Fleming, Sarah Corbett Lynch, and more.

Speaking about the experience of hosting Parting Words, Muireann O’Connell said: “What struck me immediately about Parting Words was how uplifting and life-affirming these conversations are, even when they’re rooted in loss.

"Every guest brings such honesty, humour and heart to the table.

"It’s a privilege to sit with people as they share stories about those they’ve loved and lost — and to create something that listeners can hopefully find comfort, connection and even joy in.”

Head of RIP.ie, Richie Kelly, said the podcast grew from a simple but powerful idea.

“At RIP.ie, we see every day how important remembrance and connection are for families and communities," he said.

"Parting Words creates space for honest conversations about loss, love, and legacy — not in a heavy way, but in a human way. It’s about celebrating the voices and memories that stay with us long after someone is gone.”
