Local Notes: Oweninny Wind Farm Educational Scholarship Fund presentation.
The new recipients of the Oweninny Wind Farm Educational Scholarship Fund in 2025 are: Seamus McDermott, Shane Mullarkey, James Mullarkey, Zara Moyles, Patrick O’Malley, Eoghan Spencer. Since the fund was launched in 2024, €55,000 has been awarded. This scholarship initiative is a cornerstone of the wind farm’s community engagement strategy, providing financial support to local students pursuing further education.
Confirmation will take place in Christ the King Church, Knockmore for Rehins, Cloghans and Garracloon NS on Saturday, February 14, at 11am. and for Currabaggan and Lisaniska NS on Saturday, February 21, at 11am also in Knockmore Church.
The numbers drawn last week were; 8, 15, 16 and 18, and the €25 weekly winner was Sandra Kelly.
The numbers drawn on January 12, were 5, 16, 23, and 30. Weekly and season winners were; Lenore Ryder, Joe Faughnan, Sue O'Neill, Ray Brogan, Linda McHale and Conor McAndrew. Luck Dip winner was Kevin Breslin.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the following bereaved in the parish; to Michael Doherty, Knockmore, on the sad passing of his brother Hughie Doherty, Hunstanton, England; to the daughter Marie and extended family of the late May Ginty (nee Gallagher) Bonniconlon, and late of Lisduvogue, Knockmore. Mae was sister of Matt and Paddy Gallagher, Knockmore and Kathleen Judge, Crossmolina. May was pre-deceased by her husband Billy, her sister Neil McHale, Toneybane and Nora Cooney, UK; to Martin McNulty, Lisaniska, Knockmore on the sad passing of his sister Carmel McNulty-Reilly, Castlebar Rd, Focford. May they rest in peace.
The numbers drawn in the GAA lotto last week were 2, 18, 20 and 32. Weekly winners were Violet Ruane and Gerry Higgins and season ticket winners were Joe Clarke and Michael McHale. Lucky dip winner was Louise McLoughlin.

A fundraising concert in aid of Mayo Roscommon Hospice is being hosted by All Ireland Senior Ceili band champions for 2025 Glor na dTonn on February 6, in the Great National Hotel at 8pm. The band will be joined by Bofield Ceili Band. The band are honoured to host the concert in loving memory of Paul and Linda Judge. Tickets costing €25 are available via the Mayo Roscommon Hospice website.

John Mullroy was the winner of the Community Centre lotto when the numbers drawn were, 11, 12, 24, and 30. The jackpot this week is €1,000.
A car treasure hunt will be held on Sunday, February 1, in aid of Templemary NS Parents Support Group. Registration will be at Templemary NS between 1.30pm and 2.30pm, and finishing at Gilvarry’s Pub, Killala, with light refreshments and a raffle. Registration is €20 per car.
The death took place of Florrie O'Hara, Woodview Court, Killala and London. Her remains were removed from Lynns Funeral Home Killala on Wednesday morning for Mass at 12 noon and buried in Rathfran cemetery.
