Congratulations to the following children from Currabaggan and Lisaniska national schools who received their First Holy Communion in a beautiful ceremony on Saturday, May 9, in Christ the King Church, Knockmore.
Lisaniska NS: Bobby Duffy, Jorja Reape, Aoibheann Kemp, Sophie Rowland and Aaron Prendergast.
Currabaggan NS: Aidan Rafter, Anthony Reilly, Conor Hughes, Dara Mae McGowan, Ma Browne, George Donegan, Grace Jordan, Isabelle O'Brien, Jamie Holmes, Kai Keane, Milan Kelly, Odhran Rafter, Oisin Herbert, Oran Canavan, Ronan Tighe, and Sophie Carden.
Special thanks is extended to the teachers, parents and parents' committee for having the children so well prepared for their special day.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament continues every Wednesday in Knockmore Church from 10.30am to 6pm. All are welcome to drop in at any time.
Deepest sympathy is extended to Sinead McHale (Garracloon NS) and family on the recent passing of her mother, Ann Roche (nee Walsh), Killala.
Ann was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, neighbour and friend and will be sadly missed by so many. Ann's Requiem Mass was con-celebrated on Friday, May 8, in The Church of the Holy Rosary, Cooneal, where once again huge crowds gathered to pay their final respects to her.
May her gentle soul now rest in peace.
Welcomed into God's family at their recent baptism was Eire Ella Rice. Congratulations to her proud parents and family.
The numbers drawn in last week’s Currabaggan NS lotto were 6, 12, 19 and 52. There was no jackpot winner. The €25 weekly winner was Donna Rothwell. Thank you for supporting their school.
The numbers drawn in the Conn Rangers lotto which was held recently were 3, 20, 11 and 18. There was no jackpot winner.
The weekly and season ticket winners were Ann Breslin, Kevin Langan, Paul McLoughlin, Alan Dempsey, and Kevin Walshe. The lucky dip winner was Mark Boland. The jackpot in the latest draw was €16,050 and your support is much appreciated by the club.
Volunteers would be most welcome on Monday evenings to join the committee for their weekly grass cutting and clean up at Cloghans Cemetery. All help will be much appreciated. Well done to the hard-working committee for their dedicated work in keeping the cemetery always so neat and cared for.
A new table tennis club is to open in Foxford in the near future. The club will be open to all age groups and total beginners will be very welcome to register. To date, some 30 adults and 12 juveniles (U18s) have registered.
Training will commence on June 2, and will be held every Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 9pm for adults and Sunday afternoons from 4 to 6pm for under 18s. The club are in search of table tennis tables to provide suitable entertainment for the large membership expected.
Professional coaching will be provided and the club intend to enter competitions in the future. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact 086-8373646.

Congratulations to Lisa Healy, James Kelly and Brian Walsh who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday, May 9, in St Bridget's Church, Ballycastle.
There are two new exhibitions on view in the Ballinglen Gallery and Ballinglen Museum of Art. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 12 noon to 5pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 5pm.
Congratulations to Malcolm McDonnell, last week's winner of €175 in the GAA 50/50 draw.
Swimming lessons at Lacken Pier are starting on Saturday, June 27. Registration will take place at the pier at 12 noon on the day. For more information, contact Anne at 096-43180.

Ardagh
Lisheen/Cooneal/Crossmolina Cycling Club members will undertake their annual memorial charity cycle on Bank Holiday Monday, June 1, in memory of Brian Cawley, Patrick McHale and Christine Irwin.
The cycle will commence from Ardagh Community Centre (Eircode F26 W521) starting at 10am. The cycle is suitable for all levels with a 50k route around the beautiful Lough Conn and a 30k route from Ardagh into Knockmore along a level course.
Refreshments will be served afterwards for everyone. It is guaranteed to be a very enjoyable day out and all are welcome to participate.
Ardagh Social Services are organising a two-night getaway to Athlone from Monday, August 24 to Wednesday 26. Travel by train and stay in the Sheraton Hotel, which is located in Athlone town centre. Ardagh social dancing devotees take to the floor on Sunday, May 31, from 8 to 10pm in Ardagh Community Centre with music by the unmissable Stuart Moyles and a great night's fun and entertainment is assured. Dancers are asked to note the time change and all are welcome. Admission is €10 and is payable at the door.
A coffee morning in aid of Foxford Alzheimer’s Community Trust will be held on Sunday, May 31, starting at 11.30am in Ardagh Community Centre All support greatly appreciated.
The much anticipated and highly enjoyable children's Summer Camp returns to Ardagh GAA pitch from July 13 to 16 inclusive. The camp is geared for girls and boys aged 4-12. Coordinators are Jenny Kelly and James Carr. Further details next week.
