Congratulations to Grace Scully who was the U16 winner of the 2025 Time to Shine competition. Grace wowed the audience with her phenomenal dancing skills dancing her heart out to “Oh My Johnny,” she lit up the room with her energy, talent, and beautiful smile. In the senior category the winner was Ethan Henry, founding member of Mac Henry and The Dog Roses. Ethan captivated the audience with his warm tone, a truly talented songwriter and artist, and a very deserving winner. The other senior contestants - Max, Joe, and Anam Cheoil left the room buzzing with energy. Well done to you everyone for their incredible performances A huge thank you to guest acts on the night – Mya and Davina, Joanne Gallagher and Moonlight Eclipse, who added even more sparkle to an already magical night.

The 2025 Swinford Siamsa Sraide came to a close on Wednesday, August 6, and once again it was a resounding success and a credit to the organising committee. Swinford experienced an unexpected water outage on Wednesday, community spirit and decisive action limited the impact on the festivities to ensure that an enjoyable day was had on the final day of the festival.
Sympathy is extended to the families and friends of Jimmy Ruane, Doontas, Killasser and Michael Kenney, Loughcurragh, Swinford. May they rest in peace.
Age Friendly Mayo is delivered by Mayo County Council and works to improve the services that older people have identified as being important to them, and the wider community, as they live healthy and active lives. The projects they offer, in conjunction with other organisations include; outdoor spaces and buildings, transportation, housing, respect and social inclusion, social participation, communication and education, civic participation and employment and health and wellbeing.
The key contributors to this programme are the Age Friendly Alliance and Mayo Older Peoples Council. The Age Friendly Alliance brings together older people, service providers and businesses to change thinking about aging and how services to older people are planned and delivered.

Bohola Community Park’s 2025 fundraiser which will take place on November 15,in the Park Hotel, Kiltimagh, is a Lip Sync Battle. Get ready for a night of music, moves, and mayhem as local legends take to the stage to lip sync their hearts out all in support of a great cause.
The goal is to raise €25,000 for a brand new playground for the children of Bohola and surrounding areas, so whether you are a solo star or part of a dynamic duo or group, the organisers want to hear from you. If you don’t have a group, that’s no problem as they will happily channel their inner Louis Walsh and help create one for you.

They provide options, supports and guidance for individuals and their families experiencing mental health difficulties. Enable Ireland Mayo Services require volunteers in all areas of County Mayo to work with children with a disability. Volunteers usually work one-to-one with a child within their home but also within their community or at the centre in Castlebar. Training is provided.
