Congratulations to Knockmore on their win over Westport in the primary Junior A final played on Saturday, July 26, with a scoreline 3-18 to Wesport’s 2-15. Members of the winning team were; Brian McMahon, Martin Orme, Keith Ormbsy, Adam Battle, Darragh Holmes, Ryan Casey, Davie McHale, Mike Lowther, Tadhg Staunton, Ronan Melvin, Conor Flynn, Brian Durkan, Dylan Coleman, Charlie Bourke and Sean Rutledge. Mass will be celebrated in Cloghans Cemetery on Sunday, August 10, at 6pm. The cemetery committee would appreciate any extra help to prepare for same.

Alan Donnelly Memorial Busking Competition
The Alan Donnelly Memorial Busking Competition returns to the Killala Live Festival this year. The children's busking competition will take place between 5 and 6pm in Killala Town on Sunday, August 17. 1st prize €300, 2nd Prize €200 and 3rd Prize €100, sponsored by Shane and Goretti Donnelly, The Arch Bar.
The numbers drawn on July 23, were 4, 15, 17, 26. Consolation prizes went to Teesa Ruddy, Teresa Ruddy and Kathleen Barrett. The numbers drawn on July 30, were 3, 7, 17 and 25. Consolation prizes went to Joanne Grace, Catherine Morley, Caroline Clarke and Teresa Ruddy. The jackpot this week is €9,750.
Annual Lotto tickets can be bought at the Killala Community Centre office for just €90.

Lacken/Ballycastle Walking Group continues to walk on Monday mornings and Thursday mornings at 10am. On a recent Monday the walkers enjoyed a walk from The Community Garden to the Summit of Lacken Hill around the site of The Gazebo where they had one of the best viewpoints of the surrounding areas of North Mayo. On the Thursday they ventured to Blanemore Forest, a few miles from the village of Moygownagh. This forest trail walk passes through an area of many archaeological sites from the Stone, Iron and Bronze ages. New members are always welcome!
Lacken Walking Group are delighted that their group in Lacken have been invited by Mayo Sports Partnership to host an event on September 25 to celebrate National Walking Day. The Activator Pole walking group in Lacken is an amazing success story and this invitation recognises the commitment and dedication of the walkers in Lacken and their friends from surrounding parishes have shown to this new initiative.
