New look Crossmolina Tidy Towns

A new look Crossmolina Tidy Towns meeting will be held on Thursday, January 29 at 7pm in the Civic Centre. Representatives from the environmental departments of Mayo Co Co, - Sharon Cameron, Peter Gill and Sheila Murphy will address the change in focus of the competition criteria dealing with environmental issues, climate change and sustainability. Crossmolina Tidy Towns are trying to get as diverse an attendance as possible, people in the community with interests in biodiversity, environmental awareness and pride in the town are enthusiastically encouraged to come along. Together all can make a real difference and create a vibrant, sustainable future for Crossmolina.

Books and Banter

A monthly Book Club called Books and Banter will be held on the 3rd Monday of every month in the Enterprise Centre in Crossmolina Community Council CLG [red door beside ATM machine] with a morning group at 11.30am and an evening group at 8pm. Independent Living

Sinead Reinhardt, a co-ordinator from Healthy Age Friendly Homes, will give a talk in Ardagh Community Centre tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28, at 11am on resources and supports which are available to people over 65. This talk aims to support older people to live in their own home with independence for as long as possible. There will also be an opportunity to have a one to one chat with Sinead if required afterwards. If you live at home or have an older family member living at home, this talk may be of interest and benefit to you. Everyone is welcome. Refreshments served. Club AGM

The annual general meeting of Ardagh GAA Club will take place in the community centre on Sunday week, February 8, at 6pm. Club members, players, parents and supporters are all invited to attend.

Recent deaths

The death has occurred of Tony Jordan, Doonfeeney and UK. Sympathy is extended to his wife Vera, his daughter LynnMarie, sons Ged, Anthony and Sèan, his brother Jack (Main Street), grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Sympathy is extended to the family, relatives and friends of Helen Sheridan (nee Gilboy) formerly from Belmullet who has died in England. She was sister of Ann Madden, Sea Road. May she rest in peace.
