Sympathy is extended to Fr Tony Kavanagh on the sad passing of his brother Joe, Corcoran Terrace and late of Garden Street, Ballina; to Bridgie Brogan, Runagry, Knockmore, on the sad passing of her brother Michael Murray, Castlebar; to the family of the late Gerrie DeCock, Holland and formerly of Gortnadreha; and to the family of the late Teresa Melia, Foxford, whose sudden death took place last week. May they all rest in peace.
All were saddened to learn of the passing of Benny Jordan, Rehins, Ballina. Benny passed away peacefully, following an illness on Saturday, January 24, surrounded by his family. His remains were removed to St Teresa’s Church, Rathduff on the following Wednesday for his 12 noon Requiem Mass. He was laid to rest afterwards in Cloghans Cemetery.
During his con-celebrated Mass Benny was remembered as a beloved dad, grandad, brother, friend, and neighbour. A true gentleman who was always kind and courteous. A exceptional teacher, brilliant mechanic and gifted engineer with an ability to inspire, encourage and bring learning to life. His encouragement and support guided many of his pupils to become teachers. His influence will never be forgotten by them.
Benny was blessed with the love and care extended him by his family especially in more recent times. A family that appreciated so much of his love, care and support given them especially since the passing of their mother Breege. May those many Memories help to support them during those very sad days.
Benny was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Breege, parents Michael and Sarah, infant daughter Margaret and sister Dolores and he is survived by his daughters Ursula and Siobhan, sons Vinny and Kevin, his much loved 13 grandchildren, his sister Louisa, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in -law, Fr. Sean and Seamus, sister-in-law Mary, nephews nieces, cousins and many friends to whom we extend our deepest sympathy. May his gentle soul now rest in peace.
