Crossmolina
There will be one evening Community Mass to celebrate the Lord’s Supper for Crossmolina Parish. Lay Ministers will be presented to the community. Three people from the four Church areas are needed for the washing of the feet. Call the parish office to give your name. The new Eucharistic Ministers will also be commissioned and if you would like to become a Eucharistic Minister, give your name in the parish office.
Emma will be available in Hineys on April 8, from 5 to 8pm to assist with payments, answer questions, and help with booking your excursions if needed. It is very important that by now everyone has travel insurance in place for the cruise. Make an appointment with Emma at 085 8496934 in advance so she can allocate enough time for everyone who wishes to meet with her.

Crossmolina Fire Brigade are holding a charity car wash on Easter Saturday, April 19, in aid of Crossmolina Bord na nÓg, Cancer Care West, Aoibheann's Pink Tie and Mayo Roscommon Hospice. All help and donations on the day would be greatly appreciated.
Crossmolina National School has brought home another All-Ireland title and this time for innovation! The student-designed board game, created as a school fundraiser, has won a prestigious national award from DCU Age Friendly University. So impressed by its creativity and intergenerational appeal, the university even introduced a brand-new Primary School Innovation Category. Representatives from DCU and Hasbro (world’s largest manufacturer of board games) praised the game’s potential and nominated it for an Intergenerational Innovation Award, to be presented in Dublin this May.
Congratulations to all involved, another proud moment for the talented community. Heartfelt congratulations are extended to all the children involved and to everyone who made this possible; to the school community for the support and to every person in the community and beyond who purchased this game — this award belongs to all.
On Holy Thursday, evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper will be held in Crossmolina at 8pm: Good Friday, Liturgy of the Passion in Crossmolina at 3pm and Keenagh at 5pm, Stations of the Cross in Eskeragh at 5pm and Kilmurry at 12 noon. On Holy Saturday, ceremonies are in Kilmurry at 7pm and Crossmolina at 8pm and Easter Sunday ceremonies are in Eskeragh at 9am, Keenagh at 10.15am and Crossmolina 11.30am.
Crossmolina Cycle, Walk and Talk will be held on Saturday, April 19, from 10am at the GAA pitch. Register for the cycle from 8.30am, over 18’s. For further information contact cycleandtalk@gmail.com or tel 087 9884677. It is two events in one, either walk round the convent loop route, or take to the bike and cycle round the lake. Bus and trailer will be travelling behind cyclists so if you get tired you can hop the bike into the trailer and yourself on the bus and chat your way back to base where there will be refreshments served. It is a slow pace leisure cycle with plenty of breaks. Participants can cycle as far as one can and avail of the bus to continue along with everyone else.
‘Easter Hope in a Challenging World’ will be led by the lay ministry team on Monday, April 14, at 7.30pm at St Tiernan’s Church.
A new town Hall committee has been formed consisting of Fr. Judge, Aileen Flannery Hazell (chairperson), Sheila Moffat (vice-chairperson), Noelle Higgins (treasurer), Noel Rowland (vice treasurer), Stephan Rowland (secretary), Robert Padden (vice secretary), and Jacinta O’Malley (PRO).
Become part of a new team for Crossmolina Town Hall. A meeting will be held in the hall, on Tuesday, April 15, at 9pm. It would be appreciated if all groups, schools and clubs within the parish could have a representative attend. A sincere thank you to Sean Keane and all the outgoing town hall committee members for their hard work and dedication throughout the years.
The numbers drawn in the Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club lotto on Saturday, March 29, which was held in Hiney’s Bar, were 2, 7, 27 and 29. One punter matched three numbers Damian Lavin Church View, Crossmolina, and he won €150. The jackpot in the latest draw held on Saturday, April 5, was €3,750.

The death occurred on April 1, of Richard Barrett (Richie), Ballycastle, Belderrig and Achill. He was predeceased by his father Willie and brother Anthony. Sympathy is extended to his mother Cauleen, partner Tracey, brothers Liam, Padraic and Oliver, sisters Kathryn and Kellie, uncles Breandán and Seámus, nieces, nephews, godchildren, extended family and friends. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

The Lacken Community Care AGM will be held in the Enterprise Centre on Thursday, April 10, at 8pm. This is an opportunity to come and hear about the work of this voluntary group in the community over the past few years and the plans for the future. You do not have to be a committee member to attend.
The Lacken Community Garden will meet twice weekly from this week onwards, 11am on Tuesdays and 7pm on Thursdays for the Spring/ Summer Season. New members, adults and children will be welcome.
