Tidy Towns launch dog owners' awareness initiative

Claremorris Tidy Towns is calling on all dog owners to join them in showing love - not just for their pets, but for their community too.

As part of ongoing efforts to tackle the issue of dog fouling in public spaces, the group has launched a new initiative aimed at raising awareness and promoting responsible dog ownership. A specially designed ‘sandwich board’ sign will now be displayed around the town as a friendly but clear reminder, 'Love Your Dog – Respect Your Town'.

The campaign encourages everyone to do their part in keeping Claremorris clean and welcoming for all. Dog fouling is not only unpleasant, it’s also a public health issue and an unfair burden on others who use shared spaces.

Claremorris Tidy Towns extends sincere thanks to Sharon Cameron and the Mayo County Council Environment Office for their support in bringing this idea to life.

So the next time you're out with your furry friend, remember - a cleaner Claremorris starts with you.
