2025 RIAI award.

A huge congratulations to Islandeady man Michael Horan, Managing Director of Castlebar based AXO Architects who just won the prestigious 2025 RIAI (Royal Institute of Architects Award) Public choice awards. The award-winning building was ‘The Benedictine Monastery at Kylemore Abbey, a masterpiece created by the team at AXO. Michael was full of praise for the ‘really strong’ team at AXO Architects, the clients, the contractors, the funders and the design team to achieve such a good project. He said it is rare that all of these come together, so he wanted to thank them all but especially his team at AXO.

Islandeady Community are especially proud as they chose Michael to design their proposed new community facilities building, which they are busy fundraising for at present. No doubt it will be a prized building for Islandeady in the future, a facility to be proud of.
