Opel Frontera enters the Top 20 sales charts

The Opel Frontera is proving popular with Irish motorists.

The new Opel Frontera, launched here just ahead of the 261-registration plate, has fuelled strong passenger car growth for Opel Ireland of 31.9% in the first quarter of 2026, writes Trish Whelan.

It has struck a chord with customers across Ireland, evidenced by its 859 registrations, placing the model in the top twenty best-selling models (at No 17) in Ireland this year.

Available in three trims and in five-seat or seven-seat guise, it is powered by petrol hybrid versions of 110ps and 145ps, and two all-electric versions - a 113ps 300km range and a 113ps 400km range version.

The new Frontera retails from €24,606 inclusive of grants for the all-electric version, or from €27,995 for the petrol hybrid version.
