Gardaí try to figure out circumstances after bodies of girl and man found in Dublin

Gardaí remain at the scene near Cappagh Hospital in Dublin on Sunday afternoon after the bodies of a young girl and a man were found.

An investigation has begun into the deaths after the pair were discovered at a house in the Heathfield estate in the Cappagh area of Finglas on Saturday.

Emergency services and gardaí were called to the property shortly before 8pm.

Garda Technical Bureau is currently carrying out a forensic examination.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said that they are “investigating all circumstances surrounding the discovery of the two bodies”.

Forensic specialists are carrying out an examination, while the State Pathologist is due to carry out post-mortems on the bodies.

Gardaí said are trying to piece together the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the man and girl involved.

They say the results of the post-mortem will determine the course of their investigation.
