Five people injured following collision in Co Westmeath
Five people have been hospitalised following a two-vehicle collision in Ballinahown, Co. Westmeath, on Sunday.
The collision occurred on the N62 at 1 pm.
The driver of the van, a woman aged in her 40s, was conveyed to Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, for treatment of serious injuries, believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
The driver of the car, an adult male in his late teens, was conveyed to Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
The passengers in the car, three men in their 20s, also attended Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, for injuries.
The scene has been preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and local traffic diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
