Daniel to fly flag for Mayo at Mr Personality Festival

Castlebar man Daniel Conway will represent Mayo at the 17th annual Mr Personality Festival, which is being organised by Kilkenny County Macra na Feirme. The festival will take place on April 5th and 6th next at The Talbot Hotel, Clonmel. 

Daniel, aged 26, is an active member of Castlebar Macra na Feirme and has listed his first county meeting as one of his most memorable Macra moments, where Northwest Macra Vice President Rob Lally had the whole room in stitches laughing at a story about a goose. His hobbies and interests include running, going to the gym, hiking, farming, following Mayo GAA and listening to a range of music and podcasts. He is a man of many talents! 

Daniel believes he will make a good representative for Mayo because he is a positive, outgoing and approachable person and an active Macra member. Daniel contributes where possible to his club and he is an advocate for the great work Macra do in encouraging personal development, making new friends and learning new skills, as he did through Macra.

He has a jam-packed weekend ahead of him! The contestants will arrive at The Talbot Hotel at 2pm on April 5th and will be heading out for their first group activity of the weekend. On their arrival back to the hotel, the on-stage interviews will kick off at 7.30pm. The interviews will be conducted by MC, Michelle Heffernan, from Beat 102-103. This will be followed by music from the much-anticipated GAA band and DJ til late.

Daniel will have an early start on Saturday morning with private interviews with the judges. Once the interview is finished, Daniel will be heading for some jiving lessons with Niall Doorhy; anyone interested is welcome to attend. After lunch, the contestant challenges will take place which will see Daniel be put through his paces!

On Saturday evening, Daniel will be donning his suit and meeting with sponsor Kilkenny, Carlow and District Farm Relief Services and have their official photos taken. This is followed by the banquet, starting at 6.30pm. This year, the Mr Personality committee have a very special guest making an appearance for the banquet - so make sure you get your seat early as it’s a surprise you really don’t want to miss out on! The Loose Canons will be playing hit after hit until Mr Personality 2024 is announced at 12 midnight. The DJ will be continuing the celebrations til the early morning.
