'Consider if your journey is necessary': Heavy rain causing road closures

Several roads are closed following heavy rain overnight. Dublin and Wicklow remain under a status yellow weather warning until 12 midday on Friday.
Some roads leading to Dublin Airport are flooded, with the DAA saying that drivers should follow diversion signage and take extra care on the roads.
However, the DAA says that flights from Dublin airport are operating as normal.
Speaking on Newstalk, DAA's Graeme McQueen said that the R108 road is closed due to flooding, and the Old Airport Road is experiencing high levels of surface water.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has warned of heavy flooding on the M1 northbound between J4 Donabate and J5 Balbriggan. There is also flooding on the M2 northbound off-slip at J3 near Ashbourne.
On the M50, motorists travelling northbound and southbound have been warned of surface water between J17 and J3.
TII has said: "Due to weather conditions, please consider if your journey is necessary. Reduce your speed and drive with caution."
Dublin Bus said some routes serving the airport face disruption, including the 16, 41, 41C, 33 and 24, which are being diverted away from the Swords Road.
Passengers are expected to experience knock-on delays.
Bus Éireann said it has also been impacted by the weather and is advising passengers to check its website for updates. Routes affected so far include Dublin–Navan, Dublin–Drogheda and Dublin–Ratoath.
Irish Rail said it has received no reports of weather-related incidents so far.
Reports indicate that the main road between Rush and Lusk in north Dublin is impassable, with heavy flooding also reported in Finglas, Cappagh and Abbottstown.
Fingal County Council said crews were out overnight responding to localised flooding in several areas.
Wicklow County Council reported no flooding incidents so far.

Met Éireann issued a yellow rain warning for Dublin and Wicklow due to further spells of heavy rain until midday.
It comes as the entire country is set to be under a low-temperature and ice warning heading into the weekend.
The weather warning for Dublin and Wicklow will be valid until 12 midday today.

Temperatures will fall to between minus 1C and minus 3C generally, with sharp frost and icy conditions, the forecaster said.
The weekend’s yellow warning applies to all counties between 9pm on Friday and 10am on Saturday.
Met Éireann said Friday night will be mainly dry but “very cold” and frosty with some icy patches.
It said there was a chance of a few isolated showers in northern and north-western coastal parts early on.
