Blue Raincoat theatre returns to Ballina

Their latest production, ‘Mother Courage’, will visit Balina Arts Centre on October 31st.

Blue Raincoat is Ireland's longest-running professional theatre ensemble.

With a string of awards and a reputation for quality productions and memorable performances, their shows regularly sell out, both here in Ireland and across Europe.

Their latest production, ‘Mother Courage’, will visit Balina Arts Centre on October 31st.

It tells the story of Anna Fierling, nicknamed Mother Courage, a wily canteen woman, travelling across Europe with the Swedish army.

Determined to make a living from the Thirty Years’ War, she struggles to keep her business afloat and her three children safe. The play questions the justification of warfare, and exposes the hypocrisy of religious wars.

The production is directed by Niall Henry and includes John Carty, Sandra O Malley, Bob Kelly, Aisling Mannion, Áine Ní Laoghaire and Brian Devaney.

The visit to Ballina on October 31st is a one-off opportunity to see this first-class production, which is booking out fast in theatres across the country.
