Mayo woman crowned European champion with Irish softball team

A Mayo woman was part of a softball European Championship winning team.
The Póg Mo Homers from Ireland were crowned ESSC EuroCup Women 2026 champions at a recent tournament and among their number was Mayo Softball’s own Michelle Grover.
The Irish slowpitch softball team traveled to Regensburg, Germany, for the tournament which took place from October 8–11, 2026.
After taking home the silver medal in their debut tournament appearance the previous year, they were hungry for a spot on the winners podium this time around. They went all the way to secure the gold medal and the championship trophy.
