The Kilglass Enniscrone Utd U9s played a blitz in Ballisodare against Ballisodare and Abbey United. This was the U9s first experience of an organised match.

Christmas Tree of Remembrance

The turning on of the lights for the Christmas Tree of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, November 29. There will be Mass at 7pm in the Church of the Holy Family, followed by a festive community gathering in the Kilglass Parish Community Hub for the official turning on of the Kilglass Christmas Lights. There will be mulled wine and a mince pie reception. Everyone is welcome.

U12 girls

Well done to the Kilglass Enniscrone Utd FC U12 pre-season girls team who welcomed local rivals Dromore Villa for the evening game under lights at Michael McGowan Park. Both sides battled hard and played some lovely football throughout the game but it was Dromore Villa who ran out winners.

The club extends a special well done to the majority of girls who played in their first ever competitive game and not once looked out of place. They also thank the ref on the evening Mark Boland and to Dromore for a very sporting and enjoyable game.

Installation of Information Boards

Tireragh Community Support Ltd are delighted to share details of their latest project which celebrates the rich built and natural heritage of Kilglass House. They are fortunate to have received funding from The Heritage Council for the instalment of information boards as well as the production of a historical documentary, based on the human stories behind the estate’s chequered past.

Blotto

The numbers drawn in the Enniscrone combined football clubs blotto draw which was held on Sunday, November 16, were 2, 21 and 36. There was no jackpot winner and the €25 prizewinners were Mary Regan, Vincent Feeney, Christine Connolly and Margaret Keig. The jackpot in the latest draw which was held on Sunday, November 23, was €9200.

Raffle Alert

Win a pair of tickets to the sold out Amble concert on December11 in the 3Arena, Dublin, in aid of Jesus and Mary Secondary School. The school extend thanks to Oisin McCaffrey, Amble band member and proud past pupil for his generosity donating these tickets to the school. The raffle ticket costs €12 and the draw will take place on December 1.

Scor na nÓg

Enniscrone Kilglass GAA was delighted to be represented by some of their very talented young members at the Sligo Scor na nÓg competition in Drumcliffe. Seimi and Eabha Thornhill competed in the musical instruments section while Seimi, Donncha Murtagh, Finn Murtagh and Cohen Reynolds formed the quiz team. Well done to all involved.

Golf Club AGM

The annual general meeting of Enniscrone Golf Club CLG will take place on Thursday, December 11, at 7pm, in the Diamond Coast Hotel. All members are invited to attend.

Christmas Family Quiz night

Scoil Chriost Ri Parents Association are holding a brilliant Family Quiz Night on Friday, December 5, from 7.15 to 8.45 in the Old Enniscrone Church. There is no need to wait and wait and wait for the Toy Show excitement when you can kick off the festive fun early. Grab you gang, get your Christmas jumpers ready and make a great night out of it. Tickets are €20 which is a table of 5 but there must be at least 1 adult per ticket.

Funding for Family Resource Centre

The Minister for Children, Disability and Equality Norma Foley, has announced funding for Family Resource Centres to support their vital work with children and families. The minimum funding level for Family Resource Centres will be increased from €160,000 to €180,000 in January 2026. This will benefit 100 of the 126 Family Resource Centres around the country whose current funding is below the new €180,000 minimum level. West Sligo Family Resource Centre in Enniscrone will receive €20,000.

Outstand performances

Well done to the 1st and 2nd year boys Gaelic Football team from Jesus and Mary Secondary School, Enniscrone who delivered two outstanding performances against Grange PPS and Lough Allen Gaels to claim the D and E Sligo/Leitrim Small Schools 2011 Blitz Cup. The team showed great determination, skill, and teamwork throughout the day, something everyone at the school can be proud of.

The school extend a special thanks to Sligo coach Conor Gormally for presenting the cup to the captain Brad Beglane on the day. The school are also grateful to Brandon Fitzgerald for his coaching and guidance, and to Ms. Hegarty for accompanying and supporting the team.

Enniscrone Christmas Market

The Enniscrone Christmas Market will be held on Saturday, December 6, 13, and 20 with lots of food, treats, crafts and gifts on offer, at the Old Church, Main Street, Enniscrone, from 11am to 3pm. U18 Kilglass Enniscrone Utd girls get three points

The U18 girls from Kilglass Enniscrone Utd FC made the trip to Dromahair on Monday night, November 17, to play Dromahair in the league. Conditions were dry, calm but very cold. In the first half both sides tried to settle into the game and it would be the away side who struck first, 9 minutes in when Kayden Gordon played a great pass which found Emily Tuffy who hitr the back of the net. Dromahir replied instantly thorugh Cara Keegan on the 10th minute to make it 1-1. Dromahair would take the lead through Saoirse Reynolds but that was quickly cancelled out when a great ball from Emily McGuire found Kayden Gordon to make it 2-2 after 21 minutes.

In the second half, Dromahair came flying out of the blocks when Saoirse Reynolds scored two goals on the 48th and 54th minute to complete her hattrick and put the home side 4-2 up.

Roise Egan’s solo goal on the 68th minute made it 4-3, Zuzanna Patyk’s corner rebounded back out to her and on her second effort rattled the back of the net to make it 4-4 on the 74th minute and with time running both sides pushed to grab the winner. It was the KEUFC girls who found it when Aoibhinn Garvey played a brilliant ball over the top of the Dromahair defence to the on running Kayden Gordon who calmly slotted home to make it 5-4 to the KEUFC girls who took all three points on the night.

The club thank ref Nigel Harghadon and to Dromhair for a very exciting and enjoyable game.

Enniscrone Holistic Fair will be held on Sunday, December 7, in the Old Church, Enniscrone, F26 EW67, from 1 to 4.30pm. There will be Rahanni Healing, Sound Healing, Reiki Healing, IET (Integrated Energy Therapy), Breathwork, Reflexology, Spiritual Medium and Vendor Stalls.

Country and Gospel Music Concert

Patrick Feeney’s inspirational Country and Gospel Music concert will be held on Sunday, November 30, at 5pm. Chair Yoga

There is a new chair yoga class starting on Tuesdays at 11am in Kilglass Digital Hub and Community Centre. This class is perfect for beginners and those with limited mobility.
