As the season of 2025 ended for Eoghan Rua Ladies Football Club and a new one has spring, so too has Shane Feeney and Marty Duffy’s role with the senior and junior ladies. Shane has been a huge part of the growth and success of the ladies team over the last five years, giving his time, energy and commitment week in week out. His dedication has helped shape the team both on and off the pitch, with plenty of memorable moments and many historic pieces of silverware collected along the way – most notably a Connacht junior title and back to back senior titles.
While Shane has stepped away from the management role with the senior ladies, he’s not going too far and the club are delighted to see him take the management role of the U14 girls for the coming season.
At the same time, Marty Duffy also stepped down from his role as mentor with the senior ladies. He is thanked for his support and contribution to the ladies setup over the last number of years. All at Eoghan Rua hope he enjoys his well-deserved break after many years of volunteering with the club.
‘Many hands make light work, and while the new management team of Patrick Cleary and Vincent Cuffe (joint managers) are wished every success in the coming yeart, now is about shining a well-deserved spotlight on Shane and Marty and the positive impact they have made in our club. Your chapter in the club’s history books will be talked about for years to come. Thank you Shane and Marty’, said a spokesperson for the club.
