There was no winner of Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club lotto jackpot on Saturday, March 23, in The Thatch Bar, and the numbers drawn were 12, 15, 18 and 35. No punter matched three numbers and three tickets were drawn; Jenny Connor, Deerpark, Crossmolina; Mark Ormsby, Fotish, Crossmolina; Deirdre Ward, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, and they each win €50. This week’s jackpot is €10,800.

Kilmurry 25 card results

The following are the results of the weekly session on Thursday night, March 21, in Kilmurry Centre. Best of 20 games; 1st Liz Clarke and Bernie Gilroy, 2nd Darragh Sheridan and Anthony Granahan, 3rd a tie Kevin and Jason Murphy, Jimmy Caden and Martin Garrett. Mayo Intermediate Draw

The Egan Jewellers Mayo Intermediate Football Championship draw took place in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park on Wednesday night, March 27. Crossmolina are in Group 1 having been drawn against Lahardane MacHales in Bofeenaun on the weekend of August 17/18. Louisburgh and Moy Davitts make up the group.

County U12 Basketball

Crossmolina U12 Basketball team were in hard luck to lose out to Charlestown in the winter league final in Castlebar by five points after a dramatic one point win over Ballina in the semi final. The Crossmolina panel was James Gallagher, Jamie O’Malley, Kevin Fergus, John O’Boyle, Aidan O’Boyle, Rian Floyd, James Devaney, Owen McDonagh, Luke Brennan, Sean Og Cleary, Noah Hopkins, Darragh Walsh and their coach Karen Quinn.

Lotto kicks off

Ardagh GAA Club's annual lotto for the new season kicks off this coming Sunday, April 7. Purchasers who have not returned their tickets and remittance to date to any club official or member are advised to do so as quickly as possible to ensure entry to the first draw. Annual tickets are currently on sale and can be obtained from any committee member. The 12 monthly ticket, priced at €50, entitles the purchaser to select two sets of four numbers to win or share the jackpot. Purchasers also have the option of buying their tickets online at www.ardaghgaaclub.com where they will be directed to the appropriate link. All support will be greatly appreciated by the lotto committee. The new jackpot stands at €3,600.

Results

Ardmoy U16 team recorded a two points victory over Ardnaree last weekend in the County U16 League division 2 on a scoreline of 2-13 to 2-11. In the county U14 league division 2, Ardmoy 3-13 Moy Davitts 2-8 and in the county U18 league division 5, Ardmoy 9-19 Bonniconlon 2-5.

Currabaggan School online Easter draw

The numbers drawn were 2, 4, 11 and 13 and there was no winner of the jackpot. The lucky winner of the Easter Egg was Ailson Reddington and the winners of €50 cash were Denis Lacken and Monica McHale.

Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Teresa Traynor (nee Holmes), Knockfree, Cloghans, to her sons Martin and Bernard, daughter Jennifer, her beloved grandchildren and sister Maureen Kennedy, USA. Teresa’s remains were removed to St Teresa’s Church on Monday evening, March 18, and her Requiem Mass was concelebrated on the Tuesday where she was remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend and much loved member of the community. She was laid to rest afterwards in Cloghans cemetery. Teresa was pre-deceased by her husband Paschal, daughter Fiona and sister Martina.

Sympathy is also extended to the family of the late Agnes Whelan (nee Keane) UK, sister of the late Sean Keane, Rathduff . May they rest in peace.

A fun run/walk is being organised in aid of Mayo Roscommon Hospice in memory of Mary Farrell on Saturday, April 20, with registration from 2pm and start at 3pm. It will start and finish at Bessie’s Bar, Lacken. Refreshments will be served afterwards and a raffle will take place. Raffle sheets are available in local shops and businesses.

Ballycastle 

Death

The death occurred on Saturday, March 23, of John Kenny, Main Street, Ballycastle (ex Garda Siochana, Dublin and Mayo). He was predeceased by his beloved son Colm. Sympathy is extended to his wife Mary, sons Ronan and Ciarán, his brothers James and Ray, sister-in-law Monica, extended family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Daffodil Day
