Balla GAA Club lotto jackpot prize stood at €7,200 for the latest draw on last Thursday, July 11, in The Railway Tavern. The numbers drawn the previous week on July 4 in Flukies were 16, 18, 26 and 35. There was no winner of the jackpot. The €30 winners were Bernie Hughes (online), Emmet Flanagan (standing order) and Rian Prendergast (cash sale). Thanks to all who support Balla GAA lotto.
The 2024 Balla Summer Camp running from July 29 to August 2, daily from 9am to 1.30pm will be offering lots of different activities each day with fun for all ages. Everyone that signs up is automatically entered into a raffle for a signed Mayo jersey. You also get to meet some of the Mayo team at the camp. A gardening course is currently running at Balla Centre. This is a great opportunity to discover the art of gardening. Check in at Balla Community Centre every two weeks and the modest fee is €50. The latest Manulla FC lotto draw was held on Sunday, July 14, for a massive jackpot of €15,200. The club are deeply grateful for the weekly support of their patrons. This was because of the great support from Ray, Mayo Sports Partnership, Simon from Connacht Rugby and all the amazing volunteers from Manulla FC and especially the wonderful MAC volunteers. A special thank you has been extended to all the super sports stars that took part in all the activities and to their families for joining in the fun. A fantastic day had by all. Thank also to Mayo Autism Camp and to the Manulla volunteers, without whom the day couldn't have happened.
Manulla FC Summer Camp will take place from August 19-23, this summer. The camp will run daily from 10.30am to 2.30pm. The camp will be suitable for boys and girls aged between 6 and 14 years of age. The fees are 2 child, €60, 2 children, €110 and 3 children €160. It promises to be a great week of fun this summer with a UEFA B license coach. Would you like to do Drystone walling workshop on July 27/28, from 10am to 4.30pm? Learn the traditional skill of drystone walling with conservation stonemason Dominic Keogh. This introductory two day workshop will have participants working together as a team to create a stone feature over the course of the weekend and leaving with the skills to repair and build their own drystone walls. Mindspace Mayo offers a free support service to young people (12-25years) in Co Mayo, presenting with anything from common concerns, e.g. dealing with break-up, exam stress, bullying) to emerging mental health difficulties like mild depression and anxiety. Balla Bingo takes place on Sundays at Balla Community Centre or online, at 8pm. Balla Bingo held a big charity night in aid of Balla Sensory Garden on Sunday, July 7, in the community centre and online at 8pm with €20,000 in prizes. Also there was €15,000 in prizemoney to be won on last Sunday, July 14.
Indeed there are great prizes every Sunday night, 50/50 winners in house and online, free book give away on the night. Don't forget to buy your books before 12 noon on Sundays. Balla Bingo volunteers are required from 7 to 10pm every six weeks to help sell books, count money or record winners. Those who feel they can help should contact 094 9365846.

The Local Link bus departs from Mayo Abbey Centre daily from Tuesday to Saturday to go to Castlebar (Route 792). An additional bus goes to Claremorris every Thursday (Route 791), taking in Knocknakill, Drumady, Cappagh, Cullentragh, Currykirwan, Mayo Abbey, Monard, Brize, Facefield and Gurteenmore.
