East Mayo title

Kiltimagh defeated Charlestown in the U-14 East Mayo A final played at the COE, Bekan on Monday, July 8. They now add this title to the County League they won some weeks ago. Kiltimagh had already defeated Charlestown in a previous game and were favourites going into this match. In the first half they were the dominant side but found it very difficult to get scores against a good Charlestown defence. After the break their shooting improved and they got two great goals and looked like they would run out easy winners but Charlestown fought back and got through for two goals of their own but Kiltimagh held on to their lead, leaving the final score Kiltimagh 2-5, Charlestown 2-2.

After the match the trophy was presented to Kiltimagh captain Daniel McNicholas by East Mayo chairman, Michael Daly. The team are now looking forward to the county championship which will be starting shortly.

Team and scorers: Evan O'Reilly, Rylan Gill, Conor Gilmartin, Ronan Walsh, Noah Byrne, Liam McGovern (1-0), Donagh Bigley, Eoin Ivers, Luke Commons (0-1), Sean Donnelly, Eli Feerick (1-0), Jack Ryan, Cuan Gill, Daniel McNicholas (C) (0-1), Cian Carroll.

Subs used: Conor Leonard (0-1) for Cuan Gill, Sean Burke (0-2) for Cian Carroll, Harry Ward for Rylan Gill.
