Couch to 5k

Swinford AC Couch to 5k is back for all abilities, walkers, joggers, runners. Information session on Thursday, January 15, at 6.30pm in Swinford Amenity Clubhouse.

GAA 50/50 draw

Swinford GAA 2026 registration now open

Adult players and parents/guardians of underage players are asked to register players as soon as possible. Players cannot attend any training sessions or use gym if not registered. Membership is open to all; parents/guardians and to the wider community. Please sign up and support the club. Limited offer options to subscribe to Swinford GAA 50/50 draw in a value bundle to include membership. Family discounts too. Membership deadline is March 31, 2026. Please note that any person that is involved with the club as a coach, manager, executive committee member must register on Foireann by the above deadline.

Alumni Association

Scoil Muire agus Pádraig, Swinford is setting up an Alumni Association. If you are a past pupil of St Mary's Secondary School Swinford (day pupil or boarder), St Patrick's College Swinford (amalgamating in 1985 to form Meán Scoil Muire agus Pádraig) or Swinford Vocational School (amalgamating in 1993 to form Scoil Muire agus Padraig the school would love to hear from you. Coaching workshop

Lotto

Results of Swinford Community Lotto draw held on January 5, had the numbers 5, 15, 25 and 26 drawn. There was no jackpot winner. €70 vouchers were won by Tony Reddington, c/o Moore's and J, Mm and C, Culmore; €35 was won by Chris and Annie Gallagher, Carrowreagh, Meelick, Gail Smith, Midfield and Susan Nolan, Drumalooaun, Killasser. The jackpot in the latest draw held on January 12, was €10,800.

Funding success

Swinford Tennis Club are delighted to announce that they have been awarded funding of €1000 from the Oweninney Community Benefit Fund 2025. The monies will be used to purchase much needed equipment for the club. The tennis club committee of Joe Mellett, Alma Tierney, Nathan Bell, Tom Lavin and Diane Lavin sincerely thank Kevin Kelly, Chairman of the board and Mayo County Council for their support. A meeting will be held later this year to plan for the 2026 season.

KCC 50/50 draw

Congratulations to Martin Peyton who won €800 and the €100 spot prize winners Niall Armstrong and Nancy and Val Heaney in the Killasser Community Centre December 50/50 draw. The January 2026 draw will be held on Sunday, February 1.

The late Peter Kennedy

The death occurred of Peter Kennedy, Belmont, Offaly and late of Oldcastle, County Meath. He was buried in Ss. Patrick and Saran's Cemetery on Wednesday, January 7. Peter was brother of Rose Reddington, Ardacarra. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved.

Moy Davitts 50/50 draw

Kids Jiving classes

Kids jiving classes will commence in Bohola Community Centre on Wednesday, January 28,from 4.30 to 5.15pm for children aged 3-6; and from 5.15 to 6pm for children aged 7-11.
