Wishing Grace Mulligan a wonderful retirement

The Parents Association of Scoil Chriost Ri on behalf of all the pupils and parents extend their deepest thanks and warmest wishes to Grace Mulligan as she begins her well-earned retirement. ‘Grace has been more than just a principal — she has been the heart of our school. Her dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to putting the children first have left a lasting impact on every student who walked through our doors. Pole Activator Walking

The Pole Activator Walking is back on Tuesdays from 11-12 midday at West Sligo Family Resource Centre and will continue each Tuesday until March 10. Come along and enjoy the fresh air, get active and spend time with friends and maybe some new faces as well.

Her funeral was held in London; Joe Finnerty, Garranard, Ballina (first cousin of Sean Finnerty, Enniscrone); Michael (Mickey) O’boyle, Halfhaw House, Ardagh, Ballina (uncle of Fr Aidan O’Boyle, Ballina); and Michael Vincent (Mick) Kenny, Caltra House, Easkey/ formerly Gleneaskey. May they all rest in peace.

Eoghan Rua Ladies/Easkey GAA lotto

The numbers drawn in the weekly lotto held on January 18 last were 3, 22, 34 and 39. There was no winner of the jackpot. The €30 consolation prizewinners were Grace Feeney, Seamus Kavanagh, Anna Marie Rogers, Frances Hanley and Peter Reilly. The jackpot in the latest draw held on January 25, was €10,800.

Kilglass Enniscrone Utd FC

Super underage work goes on behind the scenes at KEUFC every year, and every year they are delighted to see of their players go to Sligo Rovers, giving them the chance to test themselves at a higher level.

This year the club are delighted to see Gavin Healy and Danny Deehan from their U14 team sign for Rovers. Both lads are wished the best of luck and the club look forward to seeing them do well with their new team mates.

The numbers drawn in the Enniscrone combined football clubs blotto draw held on January 18 last were 9, 13, and 32. There was no jackpot winner. The €25 prizewinners were Patsy Mullaney, Patrick Gillespie, Seamus Rowlette and Ciaran O’Dowd. The jackpot in the latest draw held on Sunday, January 25, was €10,800.

West Sligo AC AGM

West Sligo Athletic Club are delighted to invite all athletes, parents supporters and the public to their upcoming annual general meeting which will be held on Wednesday, February 4, at 8pm in the Ocean Sands Hotel, Enniscrone.

It is an exciting time for the club as they have truly turned a corner in establishing their athletics club, with growing members and their running track now part of the journey. Come along and hear what’s ahead for 2026, and help shape the future of the club. There is no pressure, just listen, get involved if you wish, and meet the committee.

Clothes collection

Killeenduff NS is now accepting donation of old clothes, fabrics, textiles, old shoes for the month of January. All donations to be made in black bags before January 30 during school hours.

Healthy Clubs Challenge

The Irish Life Healthy Clubs Challenge is now live and Enniscrone Kilglass GAA Club are seeking your support. This is a fun competition between GAA clubs across Connacht and Ireland. Simply follow the instructions by downloading the app, register your club as Enniscrone/Kilglass and track any walks/runs you might do over the next month.

All distance covered helps the club reach their target and be in contention to win prizes in February. It is a good way to track your activity and keep the fitness up.

Gentle Yoga Flow

Mama Mia Papa Mia

Get ready for a dazzling transformation as Jesus and Mary Secondary School, Enniscrone, is transformed into a Taverna in Spain. The transition year cast of 2025/26 are all set to take to the stage with the original musical ‘Mama Mia, Papa Mia, with all the well known music of Abba. The show marks the first event in the school calendar to celebrate 85 years of Jesus and Mary education in Enniscrone. Principal Ruth Hamilton praises the show as a testament to the incredible dedication and hard work of the transition year students.

‘Transition year in Jesus and Mary is all about teamwork and these students have really worked as a team from building and painting the set to accessing props and costumes effectively building on the success of last year’s production’. Ruth added that this is the first in a series of events to mark the foundation of the school which started in 1941.

This show is a whirlwind of laughter, music, and talent. So grab your tickets and join the cast at Jesus and Mary Secondary School for an unforgettable performance on January 28 and 29. Tickets costing €15 (adults) are available online and on the door.

Enniscrone Bingo 2026 has a jackpot of €550 plus a free blue pool sheet, more cash and raffle prizes. There are free teas and coffees, so come along to Enniscrone Old Church on Tuesday nights with eyes down at 8pm. All are welcome, if you’re local or visiting.

Stronger for Longer

The 8 week programme ‘Stronger for Longer’ commenced in Castleconnor Community Centre on Thursday last, January 22 for women from 10am to 11am and men from 11am to 12 noon. AGM

The annual general meeting of Castleconnor Community Games will take place on Thursday, January 29, at 8pm in the community centre. In order for Community Games to continue in the parish, volunteers are needed. Community Games provides a wonderful opportunity for children to take part in a wide range of events, from art and crafts to football, athletics and many more.

If you could give a small bit of your time, it would be greatly appreciated. Everyone is very welcome to attend.

Drama time in Castleconnor

Castleconnor Drama Club have selected their spring play for 2026. They will be bringing a three act comedy to the stage in Castleconnor Community Centre on March 13, 14 and 15. There will be plenty of shenanigans, mistaken identities, fraud, love triangles and a hearse for good measure. ‘Second Confession’ by Paddy Heffernan is a show you will want to see, so stick it in the diary now.

Castleconnor GAA Lights Up returns

Castleconnor GAA Lights Up is back and will run every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7-8pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and bring a friend and join in whether it is a walk or a jog. It’s a great way to exercise in a safe, well-lit space, especially during the long winter evenings.

The Lights Up ties in with Ireland Lights Up and the Irish Life GAA Healthy Clubs Every Step Counts Challenge 2026 continues until February 11. The club are delighted to be taking part in the challenge. The aim is to make exercise more accessible during dark winter nights while bringing communities together in a healthy social way. Castleconnor GAA is aiming to complete 4000kms as a club to be in with a chance to win €2500 for the club.

The numbers drawn in the Castleconnor GAA lotto which was held on January 17 last were 4, 10, 27 and 40. There was no jackpot winner and the match three winners were Christine Fleming andMarietta Kilcullen, while the lucky dip winner of €50 was Sarah Cawley. The jackpot in the latest draw held on January 24, was €15,500.
