Western Gaels Hurling and Camogie Club

In March 2023, Western Gaels Hurling and Camogie Club secured planning permission from Sligo County Council for development of a playing pitch in Culleens, Co Sligo and they are now in the process of finalising the funding for the development of the field.

This will be transformative for the local area and indeed Sligo hurling in general, and will provide much-needed facilities which will support all members of the community, both old and young, for decases to come. Following the closure of St Joseph’s National School in 2022, the new development will act as a focal point for the community by providing playing pitches, ball wall and a walkway around the grounds so that anyone will have a safe place to get fit and stay active.

The club are now seeking donors – individuals, families, and businesses from near and far to help with their fundraising effort. There are 3 ways people can support this project; becoming a gold sponsor (€3000), silver sponsor (€1500), or bronze (€500). Contact any of the committee members to find out more details.
