Easkey Enhancement Association

Easkey Enhancement Association extend thanks to everyone who popped into Easkey Permaculture Community Garden on Sunday, August 17. The sun shone and showed off the beautiful vegetables and peaceful space perfectly.

Dáithí Lavelle brought his hardworking bees and their beautiful honey. The young community enjoyed some art and garden games.

There were some lovely dishes and treats to enjoy which were all homemade using lots of produce from the garden. There’s nothing like picking some vegetables and creating a dish such as a soup or stew, and coming together to grow and eat is a very special thing.

There was €467 raised on the day and someone donated €33 to bring the total to a very generous €500. This money goes towards Tidy Towns and the further development of the garden.

Easkey Enhancement Association extend thanks to Sligo Leader Partnership Compant Ltd and Sligo County Council for their ongoing support; to the parish of Easkey and Rathlee and the parish council for the beautiful piece of land they have allowed the group to grow in; to Easkey Street Festival for the loan of gazebos and tables; and a special thank you to Ben Ryan, his photography skills were second to none with even the most reluctant of people posing happily with a smile.
