Eoghan Rua Ladies brought the senior championship title back to their club for the second year in a row on Saturday, October 11, following their hard fought win over Tourlestrane. The club congratulate their players and management on a great season so far and they are wished well in their upcoming Connacht campaign.
The death has taken place of Aiden Egan, Caltra, Culleens, peacefully at Sligo University Hospital, surrounded by his family. Aiden was predeceased by his parents Hugh and Kathleen, sister Marie, brother-in-law John Joe, nieces Patsy and Feile, and grandnephew Shannon.
Aiden was the beloved brother of Ted (London), Patsy (Cork), Seamus (Enniscrone), Finola (Enniscrone), Lucia (Enniscrone) and Jacqueline (Culleens). He will also be sadly missed by his brothers-in-law Martin John Keveney and Brendan Murray, sisters-in-law Dympna and Joyce, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Aiden reposed at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina, on Tuesday evening, October 14, from 5.30 to 7pm and his funeral arrived to St James’s Church, Easkey on Wednesday mornings for Requiem Mass followed by burial in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Kilglass. May Aiden rest in peace.

Enniscrone Kilglass GAA extend sincere thanks to all their volunteers who helped in any way in preparing and on the day for the Sligo GAA Homeland Senior Football championship final which ended in a draw. The organisation and effort from all involved to ensure a smooth day for players and supporters alike was top class, and the clubs facilities was showcased in the best possible light. The numbers drawn in the Enniscrone combined football clubs blotto draw which was held on Sunday, October 12, were 16, 31 and 41. There was no jackpot winner. The €25 prizewinners were Karen Battle, Michael Edward Hannon, Elaine Hayes and Tommy Connaughton. The jackpot in the latest draw which was held on October 19, was €8,200.

Tireragh Community Support Ltd were delighted and honoured to receive a beautiful commemorative plaque from their funders, the Department of Social Protection, to mark the 30th anniversary of Community Employment in Ireland. The plaque was presented by Martina Cawley from the DSP, and it serves to recognise the importance of Community Employment and the fantastic work carried out by CE participants in communities all across Ireland.

Jennifer Scott Howley is hosting a Gratitude Gala in aid of the Acquired Brain Injury Unit in Sligo on Saturday, November 22 in the Ocean Sands Hotel, Enniscrone. Jennifer is feeling grateful 10 years later and a life that she thought she would never have without the help of her family, friends and the wonderful Aquired Brain Injury Unit and their team in Sligo. Jennifer is hoping to raise €10,000 for the 10 years of gratitude, 10 for 10.

The weekly bereavement support group has resumed at Knock Shrine on Wednesday mornings at 11am in the Family Centre. This meeting provides an opportunity for those who have lost a loved one to meet others who are bereaved and to share and talk about their experience of loss as well as finding hope and healing again in their lives.
