Castleconnor GAA Club delivered a 4 week pilot program for children with additional needs and their siblings. The children enjoyed lots of fun games and activities and the club hope to deliver another program in the New Year.

Enniscrone Kilglass GAA Club AGM

The Enniscrone Kilglass GAA Club annual general meeting took place before a large attendance in the astro turf building on Thursday, November 28 last.

Outgoing secretary Shane Hargadon delivered a comprehensive report detailing the club’s activities for the year, while outgoing treasurer Clair Beglin Duffy provided accounts to give an insight into the club’s financial situation. The meeting complimented both Shane and Clair for the enormous amount of work they have both undertaken during their time in their respective roles in recent years.

Outgoing chair Cathal Mullaney also addressed the meeting before he also stepped down from the position.

Declan Rouse has been appointed as the new club chairperson, while Alan Hargadon assumes the role of secretary. Nomination will be invited for the position of treasurer in advance of the next club meeting. The club wish the new top table every success for the coming year. Thanks was also extended to Aoife Gordon for her efforts as she stepped down from her role as joint PRO.

Christmas Food Appeal

The Kilglass Enniscrone Parish annual Christmas St Vincent DePaul Appeal for food, toys, toiletries and fuel appeal is now underway. Boxes for donation are available in Kilglass and Enniscrone Churches and also in local businesses.

St Vincent de Paul has seen another huge increase this year in calls for help from people who are finding it ever more difficult to make ends meet. If you can afford to do so please consider making a donation, however small to this local charity. Donations of coal/briquettes etc can also be made, please get in touch for further details. Some examples of items that can be donated are; tinned food, non perishable foods, cereals, selection boxes, tea, coffee, biscuits, sweets, etc. Toiletries – toothpaste, shampoo, toothbrushes, soap, toilet tissue etc. Toys – board games, teddies, dolls or any types of toys.

Christmas Market Sunday

Easkey Christmas Market Sunday will be held on December 15, from 11am to 4pm in Easkey Community Centre F26V2T3. There will be over 30 stalls of locally produced goods. Shop local. All proceeds are going to the Easkey Meals on Wheels service which run 365 days of the year.

Jingle and Mingle

Castleconnor Community Council are hosting their annual Christmas Party fundraiser on Sunday, December 22, from 11am to 2pm at Castleconnor Community Centre. This is a wonderful festive event that brings the whole community together while raising funds for the day to day running of the community centre. There will be a cake sale, raffles, music, face-painting, complimentary food and drink and you can also meet Santa.

Your support for this event will be appreciated and ‘Jingle and Mingle’ with family, neighbours and friends while supporting a great cause.

GAA lotto

The numbers drawn in the Castleconnor GAA lotto which was held on November 30 last were 4, 14, 29 and 30. Match 3 winner of €100 was Sean McGuire and the €50 lucky dip winner was Gerry and Tina Curley. The jackpot for the latest draw which was held on Saturday, December 7, was €24,500.
