The Castleconnor Community First Responder (CFR) Group is delighted to donate a new outdoor defibrillator cabinet, located at the Old Church (beside the Checkout Shop) on Main Street, Enniscrone. The group thank Councillor Joe Queenan for generously funding the defibrillator and Sean Egan Electrical for kindly installing the cabinet.
Having a publicly accessible defibrillator is vital in the event of a cardiac arrest. Correct procedure, if someone collapses, is to call 112 or 999, begin CPR immediately, send someone to retrieve the nearest defibrillator, and follow its voice instructions. Every minute counts, and early CPR and defibrillation can save lives while waiting for the National Ambulance Service and local Community First Responders to arrive.
The Castleconnor CFR Group also thank everyone for their continued support. Their annual Vehicle Run takes place on Sunday, August 16, with all funds raised helping them continue to provide lifesaving equipment, training and community awareness throughout the local community.
