After a week of play and a fantastic turnout, the presentation of the Bridie Ronayne Memorial Trophy took place on Saturday, June 13, in the clubhouse. The 2026 winner was Carmel Timoney. John McCarrick won the gents section. The competition raised €1001 for the chosen charity - The Butterfly Garden Swinford. Well done to all the winners, competitors and to everyone who donated generously. Lotto

Results of Swinford Community Lotto draw held on June 15, had the numbers 7, 10, 22 and 24 drawn. There was no jackpot winner. €70 vouchers were won by Amy Brett, Midfield and Anthony Spain, Swinford; €35 was won by Johanna McNicholas, Barnacogue. The jackpot is now €6,000.

Gardening Club

Horticulturist Dennis O'Hara will give a talk on Summer in the Garden on Tuesday, June 23, at 8pm in the Meeting Room on Lower Main St. He will be happy to answer any gardening questions after the talk. Dennis will also have flowers, plants etc available for sale. Everyone is welcome to attend. Non-members €5.

Rosary on the Reek

Rosary on the Reek will take place on Saturday, June 27. Gather at the Grotto in the car park at 9.45am to begin the climb at 10am. Rosary and Mass at the summit at 12 noon. For information contact Fina 096 45374 / 087 681 6821.

Vintage Run

The Siamsa Sraide committee looks forward to welcoming everyone to the 2nd Siamsa Sraide Street and Arts Festival Vintage Run on Sunday, August 2. Registration from 1pm at the Main Stage on Main Street, run will commence at 2pm starting and finishing on Main Street. Festival Kick off

The countdown is on to the kick-off of the Swinford Siamsa Sraide Street and Arts Festival which returns from July 30 to August 5 bringing with it seven days of music, art, cultural, historical and family events. Chele Crawley and Martina Wintour will be launching their best-selling books on Thursday, July 30, at 10.30am in The Novel Bean. This event will be the start of an action-packed programme for the 2026 Festival.

Kilmovee Swimming Pool

Kilmovee Swimming Pool were delighted to have their 'Paint our Pool' project selected to receive paint in this year’s 'Dulux Lets Colour' programme. Dulux loved the story of Kilmovee Pool, its history and strong community spirit and wanted to help see the vision to regenerate the pool come to life. This community spirit was strongly evident on the recent paint/clean-up days. A massive thank you to the fantastic pool volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and made the swimming pool shine with a fresh new look. The committee are so proud of what the community has achieved. Walks registration coming to a close

The late Jimmy Lavin

The death occurred of Jimmy Lavin, Kilmovee, who died on Saturday, June 6, and whose funeral took place in Kilmovee on Wednesday, June 10. He was uncle of Anne Mulroy, Ardacarra. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved.
