Now that Ardagh GAA Club's monthly lotto draw has resumed committee members are focussing their efforts on raising as much finance as possible. It is important to note that the lotto is the primary means of raising finance for the club as the proceeds are channelled into maintaining two senior football teams and numerous underage football squads. In addition to this, there is ongoing club development the fruits of which are quite visible around the club environs. Lotto tickets are still available from any committee member or through the club website www.ardaghgaaclub.com. By contributing to the lotto you are supporting a club which is the epitome of volunteerism at its best and one which is at the heart of its community.
Congratulations to Ardmoy footballers Evan O'Malley, Declan Moran, Darragh Moore, Ross Gallagher, Adam Sweeney and Conor Carey who all put in massive performances when representing St. Tiernan's College, Crossmolina, which won the Connacht Colleges Juvenile B title in Bekan last week. Similarly, Gortnor Abbey Convent pulled off the Connacht Colleges first year D title and amongst their team were Ardmoy's Jack Rooney, Jai Wilson, Geoff Hurst and Joe O'Boyle who by all accounts represented their college and club with distinction. The future certainly looks bright for the amalgamated Ardagh/Moygownagh underage structure.
Prayer booklets, ‘Walk with Me’, are available free in the church and parishioners are encouraged to take one.
