There was no winner of the jackpot in the latest Ballintubber GAA Lotto draw on Monday, April 1, when the numbers drawn were 3, 10, 18 and 32.
The winners of the consolation prizes of the €20 tickets for the special 'Win €52k' draw were Mary Hallinan, Mary Kelly, Vincent Mahon, Kevin Shannon, Peter Tuohy and Michael Murphy.
Congrats to Ciaran Nolan, from Westport, who won the special 'Win 52k' draw and is now the lucky winner of a €1,000 fuel voucher courtesy of Certa. All lucky dip winners get a ticket for the 'Win 52k' draw.
The draw is offering a lucky winner the chance to earn €1,000 a week for a year in their recent ‘Win €52K’ fundraiser. Congrats to the Ballintubber GAA Club Under 11s who took part in the Connacht GAA Go Games in Croke Park last week. A special word of thanks is extended to club coaches Helen Grealis, Paul Early, John Joyce and Michael Mulchrone who gave up their time to bring the lads for their day out at GAA headquarters.
Ballintubber junior team have been drawn against Knockmore, Ballina and Charlestown in the Mayo GAA Junior A, Primary Junior Championship.
The numbers drawn in the Ballyglass FC Lotto on April 1 were 9, 12, 13 and 24. There was no winner of the €6,500 jackpot and there were no Match 3 winners.
Consolation prizes went to Patrick Burke, Alanah Maloney, Ivan Carroll, Michael Flannery and Karyn O’Malley.

Ballyglass will hold an official Darkness into Light 5km walk this year in aid of Pieta House at 4.15am on the morning of Saturday, May 11.
Volunteers will be needed to ensure everything goes smoothly and safely on the day so anyone who would like to be a steward, or help out in any other way, please let anyone on the Community Council know closer to the time. The market in Ballyglass takes place on the second Sunday of every month from 11am to 2pm. The next market will be on Sunday, April 14.
A Community Spring Clean in Ballintubber and surrounding areas will shortly take place, organised by the Community Council.
Those taking part are asked to meet at the graveyard carpark on next Saturday, April 13, at 11am. Make the community cleaner, greener and more beautiful.
Thanks have been extended to everyone who participated in the first group Tochar Walk for 2024. All participants really enjoyed the day. A massive 'thank you' also to all who volunteered and deepest gratitude is due to the leaders and support drivers and to everyone who helped with registration. An information event for the public will take place in Halla Tuar Mhic Eadaigh on Tuesday, April 16, from 10.30am to 1pm.
There will be information stands from the following present on the day - Education Training Board, Public Participation Network, Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, Atlantic Technological University, Údarás na Gaeltachta, Community Futures Programme, South West Mayo Development, Local Enterprise Office, Department of Social Protection, Community Employment Schemes, Pleanáil Teanga and Geopark. So, if you want to engage in future training, start up a new business or find further information on social welfare entitlements, community employment schemes or housing grants, don’t miss this event in your community.

'Out of the Woods 8K” will take place next Sunday, April 14, at 1pm. The organising committee look forward to welcoming all athletes and participants to what will be as great a day out for everyone as last year was. The latest Thuar Mhic Éadaigh GAA lotto draw took place on March 30 for a jackpot of €11,300. The numbers drawn were 14, 18, 22 and 29 and there was no jackpot winner. Online consolation prizes went to Marie Prendergast and Vinnie Dolan.

A new session of Yoga classes will commence in Halla Tuar Mhic Éadaigh starting on Tuesday, April 16, at 6.30pm. Classes will run for seven weeks up until Tuesday, May 27, if there is sufficient interest. The cost is €70.

Deepest sympathy is extended to Chrystelle Staunton, Riverbank Close, Partry on the recent tragic passing of her brother, Thierry Duchamp who passed away during a hiking trip to Tully Mountain in Connemara.

Tourmakeady and Partry Community Games Athletics Day has been organised for the May Bank Holiday Monday once again. There is a 2pm start and all enthusiastic athletes from the area are urged to participate.
The next conversational Irish class will take place again this Wednesday morning, April 10, from 11am to 12 noon.

A special thank you has been tendered to everyone who came out and helped to pick up litter in Killawalla and the surrounding areas. Thank you to the Community Council for organising the event and also the Easter Egg Hunt and refreshments for the children and adults on Easter Sunday. Killawalla Community Council is hosting a family table quiz on Sunday, April 28, at 4pm in Killawalla Community Centre to raise funds for the annual Community Day. Tables of four are a modest €20. There will be spot prizes galore and a raffle on the evening.

The death occurred of Sean Staunton, Aughadrina, Castlebar, who passed away peacefully at his residence.
Pre-deceased by his parents James and Celia, Sean is deeply regretted by his brother Michael, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends to whom sincere sympathy is tendered. His remains reposed at the Coady Funeral Home on Thursday with removal to the Church of The Holy Rosary, Castlebar. Requiem Mass was celebrated on Friday with the funeral ceremonies taking place afterwards in Castlebar Old Cemetery.

Jiving lessons commenced in Ballyheane Community Centre on April 4 in the lead-up to the very popular Ballyheane Goes Country Music Festival, which takes place in early June. The lessons take place from 8 to 9pm and booking and payment are in advance.

Ballyheane beat Kiltimagh/Knock United 4-1 in the Westaro Cup last week. Academy Training will commence next Sunday, April 14, at 11am.
Ballyheane Community First Responders Group is currently looking for volunteers in Killawalla and Errew areas. Training continues for this group on Thursday nights in Ballyheane Community Centre's main hall.
On Mondays from 10am to 11am, the 'Move it or Lose It' classes take place with Claire.
Ballyheane Ladies group meet on Monday evenings at 8pm in the community centre and ballroom and social dancing sessions take place in the main hall from 8.30pm.

The death has taken place of Gerry Sheridan, Shangort, Knocknacarra, Galway and late of Ardboley. The deceased was a brother of Pat, Kiltimagh Road, Balla and Ena, Ardboley.
Gerry passed away peacefully, following an illness bravely borne, with his loving family by his side and in the wonderful care of the staff at the Galway Clinic. Predeceased by his two grandchildren Annie and Grace and his parents Patrick and Mary, he is deeply regretted by his wife Bríd, his daughters Fiona and Michelle, sisters Maureen and Ena, brothers Joe and Pat, his nieces and nephews, and his adored grandchildren, David, Rebecca, Daniel, Paul, Chloe, Jessica and John, sons-in-law David and Eamonn and the extended Sheridan and McCormack families, neighbours and friends to whom sincere condolences are extended.
His remains reposed at his home, Arden Oak, Shangort, Knocknacarra on Easter Monday, April 1, and arrived at the Church of St John the Apostle, Knocknacarra on Tuesday, April 2, for Requiem Mass. Gerry was laid to rest in Rahoon Cemetery.

Balla GAA Club lotto jackpot prize stood at €5,800 for the latest draw on Thursday, April 4, in The Shebeen. The numbers drawn the previous week in The Railway Tavern were 9, 17, 22 and 24.

Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail Spring Festival takes place on April 27th. The itinerary is as follows: Assemble at Murrisk Carpark at 8.15am for bus transport back to Aughagower. The walk will commence at 9.30am with lunch at Brackloon National School and finish at Murrisk. All proceeds from the walk go to heart and stroke charity Croí. Clogher Active Age Group enjoyed a trip away from the centre this week. They spent an hour bowling at Mayo Leisure Point and followed this with a sumptuous lunch at the TF Royal Hotel. Thanks to Dermot, the bus driver, and the staff of Mayo Leisure Point and the TF Royal for the excellent service which ensured that everyone had a very enjoyable outing.
Spring is well on the way and for anyone interested in gardening there is still a plant swap/takeaway available at the Clogher Heritage Complex. Everyone is welcome to give or take away a plant. At present, there is a selection of shrubs and strawberry plants available to take away.
