“Moygara Castle County Sligo and The O’Gara’s of Coolavin” will be launched in Ceolaras Coleman Gurteen on Friday, December 1, at 7 pm. All are welcome.
The Men’s Shed Card Drive will be held in Ballaghaderreen Men’s Shed on Thursday, November 30, Thursday, December 7 and 14, from 8 to 10pm. There will be numerous prizes on offer and all are welcome.
The Ballaghaderreen GAA club 50/50 draw took place on Sunday, November 19, in The Old Forge Inn, Cloontia. The jackpot of €602 was won by Tom Curran, Circular Road and the seller was Solans. Tickets can be purchased at various outlets in the town. An annual 50/50 ticket for €90 gives entry into every draw in the year and is available from committee members.
Shine a Light cards are available in local chemists or from Kathleen Rushe on 087 4156033 at a cost of €5 each. Christmas card packs are also available for €6 for a pack of 12 cards.

The Soccer Club 50/50 weekly draw took place on Tuesday, November 21, at the Community Park Clubhouse. The jackpot of €225 was won by Bernie and Eamon McCrann and it was a club sale. The next draw takes place today, Tuesday, November 28, at the Community Park Clubhouse. A fundraising concert for Victim Assistance Charity that supports victims of crime and trauma in Ireland will be held in The Basilica, Knock Shrine on December 1. Christmas Heritage Night in Kilmovee Community Centre takes place on Monday, December 4, commencing at 8.30pm with live traditional music, set dancing, sean nos dancing, and storytellers. Refreshments will be served during the break and there will be plenty of good cheer and much more. Admission is free and there will be a raffle on the night.
The jackpot of €1900 was won last Sunday, November 19, on 46 calls by a loyal patron at Kilmovee Bingo. The jackpot now reverts to €400 on 45 calls increasing by €50 weekly until it is won. The house lotto is €360 on four correct numbers and the 50/50 draw has a guaranteed winner every week. The Big Christmas bingo will be held on Sunday, December 10, at 8.30pm, with loads of cash prizes and the usual great atmosphere.

Kilkelly NS Parents Association will be holding a Cash for Clobber fundraiser to raise funds for school enhancement projects. Drop off items at the old courthouse in Kilkelly on December 5 and 6, from 6 - 8pm. Clean clothing, bed linen, clothing accessories and paired shoes are accepted. The death took place of James King on November 7, unexpectedly yet peacefully at home in the tender loving care of his family. James was predeceased by his beloved mother Dolores, he will be sadly missed and remembered by his heartbroken family, his father John, brother Jonathon, sister Fiona Brady (Stamullen), brother-in-law Barry, niece Cara, nephew Rian, aunt Catherine, his relatives, neighbours and many friends. James reposed in The Kilgarriff Funeral Home Ballaghaderreen, on Friday, November 10. The funeral arrived to The Cathedral of the Annunciation and St Nathy Ballaghaderreen, on Saturday, November 11, for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon followed by interment in Kilcolman Cemetery. May James rest in peace as deepest sympathy is extended to all who are bereaved by his passing.
The death took place of Sally McHugh, Market Street, Swinford, in her 90th year peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff of St Attractas Nursing Home, Charlestown, on November 20. Sally was predeceased by her husband Seamus and will be greatly missed by her daughter Moya, sons Seamus, Niall, Andrew, Ian, Patrick, daughters-in-law Noreen, Margaret, Geraldine, Maureen and Claire, son-in-law Seamus, 22 adored grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, brother Michael, staff and residents of St Attractas Nursing Home and all her extended and much loved family, neighbours and friends.
Sally reposed in Boland’s Funeral Home, Swinford, on Wednesday, November 22, and her funeral Mass took place on Thursday, November 23, at 12 noon in Our Lady Help Of Christians Church, Swinford, followed by interment in Kilconduff Cemetery, Swinford. May Sally rest in peace deepest sympathy is extended to all who mourn her passing.
