Up-and-coming electronic producer Art of Algebra will perform in Ballina next weekend, together with Afro-Irish MC Breezy iDeyGoke.

The pair will bring their signature electronic trip-hop sound to Ballina Arts Centre next Saturday, July 20th, with a series of specially curated visual projections for a unique, immersive audio-visual experience.

This live gig will take place in the Auditorium. The space will be cleared of seats, to leave room for dancing and enhance this fully immersive and unique audio-visual live experience. The event is part of Art of Algebra’s residency at the Ballina Arts Centre, which will culminate with a forthcoming accompanying video commission to be released later this year.

Art of Algebra is the musical alias of David Hallinan, an electronic producer, originally from Enniscrone. His sound blends a mix of electronica sub-genres including trip-hop, downtempo, darkwave and the LA ‘Beat-Scene’, inspired by artists like Boards of Canada, Massive Attack, Rival Consoles, Teebs and Andy Stott. He returns to Ballina following his appearance as part of the Fringe Festival in 2023.

Breezy iDeyGoke is an Afro-Irish artist renowned for fusing musical influences of rap, R&B and afrobeat, all while presenting his message with cool-headed lyricism. Breezy has cultivated a unique brand of colourful, bold, rhythmic sounds and last performed in Ballina with Denise Chaila as part of Other Voices in 2020.

The pair have reunited following their 2020 collaboration 'Praying on a Gamble', which was accompanied by an acclaimed music video, directed by Mark Smyth, nominated for a Shark Award for Smyth’s direction. Tickets cost €10 and are available from Ballina Arts Centre or online at: www.ballinaartscentre.com.
