Riverside Theatre Group Ballina is delighted to present Lend Me a Tenor, one of the most beloved and hilarious farces of modern theatre, which is coming to the Ballina Arts Centre stage this week.

Set in a Cleveland hotel suite in 1934, Lend Me a Tenor follows one frantic evening as a world-famous Italian opera star is scheduled to perform in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci. When the temperamental tenor threatens not to appear, chaos erupts. What follows is a whirlwind of mistaken identities, slamming doors and escalating absurdity as eight characters struggle to keep the show - and their reputations - intact.

Funny, fast-paced, and full of physical comedy, Lend Me a Tenor is a loving homage to classic farce and the glorious unpredictability of live performance.

This production marks the directorial debut of Sarah Collins, who says the experience of bringing the show to life with a local cast and creative team has been a joy.

“Comedy like this only works when everyone commits fully,” she said. “Our cast and crew have embraced the energy, precision, and effort this play demands, and rehearsals have been filled with laughter and incredible teamwork.”

As a community theatre company, Riverside Theatre Group Ballina is proud to bring vibrant, high-quality live theatre to local audiences. This production is the result of countless volunteer hours and a shared love of storytelling, performance, and connection.

Audiences can expect a night of sharp dialogue, outrageous situations, and nonstop laughs - a perfect escape and a celebration of theatre at its most entertaining.

Lend Me a Tenor will be performed at Ballina Arts Centre on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 12th, 13th and 14th, at 8pm nightly.

Tickets are available from the box office at 096-73593 or online at www.ballinartscentre.com.
