Ballina Chamber marks International Women's Day 2026 with major event

International Women's Day will be celebrated on March 8th.

On Friday, March 6th, at 10.30am, the Ballina Chamber of Commerce proudly hosts this year’s International Women’s Day event - a celebration of leadership, resilience, and shared wisdom under the inspiring theme 'Give to Gain'.

International Women’s Day is a moment to honour the achievements of women while recognising the work still to be done in creating equitable opportunities in business, community life, and beyond. Here in Ballina, that celebration takes on a uniquely local and powerful dimension.

This year’s theme, Give to Gain, reminds us of a simple yet transformative truth: when women share their knowledge, experiences, and encouragement, entire communities grow stronger. Success is not diminished by generosity - it is multiplied by it.

The event will feature well-known and highly respected professional women who have built careers, navigated challenges, and led with purpose. They will generously share practical advice and lived experience across key areas that matter deeply to women at every stage of life and career. These include:

Financial Planning – Empowering women to take control of their financial futures, build confidence in decision-making, and plan with clarity for long-term security.

Mental Health and Wellbeing – Recognising that resilience begins within, and that strength includes knowing when to seek support, set boundaries, and prioritise self-care.

Physical Health and Vitality – Encouraging sustainable habits that support energy, longevity, and balance in increasingly demanding lives.

In a world where women often carry multiple responsibilities - as professionals, carers, leaders, and community builders - this gathering is more than a networking event. It is a space for connection, affirmation, and practical empowerment.

Ballina has long been a town defined by community spirit and enterprise. By creating a platform where accomplished women openly share their journeys, including the obstacles as well as the achievements, the Chamber reinforces a powerful message: collaboration strengthens us all.

Give to Gain is not simply a slogan. It is a call to action. When women mentor, encourage, and invest in one another, confidence grows. When expertise is shared, opportunity expands. When stories are told honestly, barriers are broken.

As we gather on March 6th, we celebrate not only success, but solidarity. We honour ambition, courage, and compassion. And we recognise that the true measure of progress lies not only in what we achieve individually, but in how we lift others along the way.

This International Women’s Day in Ballina stands as a testament to what is possible when women give generously of their insight and experience - and in doing so, help others gain confidence, clarity, and courage.

Because when women thrive, communities flourish.
