Ballina Arts Centre will play host to a fantastic play next weekend, entitled 'Still On The Road To De-Mask-Us'.
It’s November 2021 and a second year of Covid is taking its toll on the residents of Ballinabuck. The vaccine and booster programmes have allowed some freedoms, however plenty of challenges remain.
Emily struggles with the demands of her long-distance relationship with Jessica, while Mary Lou’s romance with Liam is rapidly losing its shine. Mick and Kathleen have their house back to themselves again, but this doesn’t stop Kathleen sticking her oar in especially when it comes to her darling “sun” Liam.
Susan, Emily’s mother, continues to turn up unannounced. Could the unlikely seeds of a Covid romance be planted between Susan and bachelor JP?
As 2021 comes to a close, a few home truths are revealed, and hard questions need answering.
Whilst Covid is going nowhere in 2022 the residents of Ballinabuck are otherwise occupied as they lend their support to a fundraising event for the people of Ukraine. Could this reveal a deeper truth that often lies beneath the many masks worn?
