Westport Athletic Club took on the 700 for 700 Challenge to celebrate reaching the fantastic milestone of registering 700 members this year.
The goal was for the club to collectively run 700 kilometres, but the amazing members went above and beyond, clocking up a whopping 2,833 kilometres!
Alongside the challenge, Westport AC also organised a club collection in support of Sunflower Children's Hospice in Castlebar, raising funds for this very worthy cause, and Susan Gaynor from the Sunflower Children’s Hospice was in attendance.
To round off the challenge, a lovely tea, cake and a run around the track was held on Halloween morning at the club.
A huge thank you to everyone who ran, walked, donated, supported and helped make this challenge such a success, with €1,392 raised online.
2,833 kilometres, 700 members and one amazing club community coming together for a wonderful cause!
