Thoughts on Heimir Hallgrímsson as Ireland manager so far?

He has come across as genuine, a decent speaker and says it how it is. He has a lot of work to do with the squad he has inherited but small improvements have been made since he has come on board.

Currently playing soccer with Dunmore Town.

Everyone is saying Luke Littler so I will go for Michael van Gerwen to turn his form around this Christmas.

I reckon Mayo are due a Connacht – not sure if they’ll go beyond the quarter-finals.

What local club player would you like to see get their opportunity on the Mayo panel in 2025?

Not too familiar with the Mayo club scene but I reckon Cillian O’Connor’s point scoring ability will be a loss with the new rules in play.

What is your favourite sports movie or documentary?

Will (2011) – a Liverpool FC movie on the infamous 2005 Champions League final. Give it a watch if you’re a Reds fan.

With MacHale Park opening up to other sports being played there, what sport or event should take place next at the home of Mayo GAA?

The rugby games make sense, especially for the Connacht supporters based in Mayo.

What sport do you intend to watch more of in 2025?

Big fan of watching golf, and enjoy watching the final day of PGA competitions on a Sunday evening – aim to watch more in the new year.

Will Liverpool stay the course and win the Premier League or lose out?

As a Liverpool supporter, I hope so. I would be wary of Chelsea, though.

Now they are both past the peak of their powers, settle it once and for all - Ronaldo or Messi?

Ability wise, Messi. Ronaldo for his hard work and winner’s mentality. When it comes down to it, Messi tops Ronaldo after winning the World Cup.

Keep an eye out for talented St Patrick's Athletic striker Mason Melia over the next few years. Now 17, he has been linked with some top clubs around Europe.
