Tuesdays are set aside for Mayo AC 5k Series

Athletics: The launch of the 2024 Mayo AC 5k Series took place at Intersport Elverys Castlebar last Wednesday. Mayo Athletic Club is delighted to announce that Intersport Elverys have come on board again this year as the main sponsors of the series, along with Shaws Commercial.

Mayo AC also welcome Mayo Mental Health Association who are Charity Partners for the 2024 Series.

This is the 12th edition of the popular 5k series which this year consists of five races.

One of the races will be hosted by Westport AC on a course which incorporates the beautiful grounds of Westport House, with the Series taking place over five consecutive Tuesday evenings starting in mid-May and running through until mid-June. All races start at 8pm.

The final race will be in Claremorris on June 11 which will be followed by an After Party.

All races are chip timed with the same race number used for each event.

Entry for all five races including the after party is €40 euro. Entry for a single race is €10.

There are t-shirts for the first 100 participants who register for the full series.

Meanwhile, all involved with Mayo Athletic Club would like to send very best wishes to their running compatriots, Hugh Armstrong from Ballina AC and Keelan Kilrehill and Kirsty Maher from Moy Valley AC, all of whom are headed for Begrade in Serbia this coming weekend to compete with the Irish team at the World Cross-Country Championships on Saturday, March 30.
