Sunday Sport: Donegal and Kerry go to battle in repeat of All Ireland final

GAA

It's coming towards the hooter in this afternoon's two games in Division 1 of the National Football League.

Donegal are currently 1-21 to 0-18 up on Kerry in Ballyshannon with Daire Ó Baoill's goal separating the sides so far in a repeat of the 2025 All Ireland final.

Dublin trail Mayo at McHale Park with the hosts leading that one 1-16 to 2-8 so far.

Darragh Beirne's goal looks to have wrapped up the win for Mayo there.

Monaghan lead Roscommon by 1-8 to 1-6, with that one just into the second half.

In Division 2, Cork still have a 1-15 to 0-10 advantage over Louth heading for the full-time whistle.

That will be followed by the clash of Cavan and Meath at 3.45pm.

Meanwhile, Armagh boss Kieran McGeeney has said that he trusts his players to make the right decisions in the heat of battle.

His side suffered a one-point loss to Galway in Division 1 of the National Football League yesterday.

Critics have hit out at the Orchard County's preference for handpassing the ball over the bar instead of going for goal.

However, McGeeney has said that the players have to make their own minds up when the time comes.

There were also wins yesterday for Derry, Kildare, Down, Wexford and Carlow.

Hurling

It is very busy too in the Hurling League.

In Division 1A, Offaly are 2-12 to 1-10 down to All Ireland champions Tipperary at O'Connor Park.

Waterford are currently 0-10 to 0-9 up on Limerick at Walsh Park.

In Division 1B, Clare have beaten Antrim by 2-25 to 1-17, while Down trail Wexford by 0-20 to 0-12 in Ballycran.

Soccer

Manchester United look set to win their third Premier League game in a row under Michael Carrick.

A header from Casemiro has them 1-0 up at half time against Fulham.

Crystal Palace equalised right on the stroke of half time against 10 man Nottingham Forest.

Neco Williams was sent off for handling the ball in the box.

Brentford are also down to 10 men but they lead Aston Villa 1-0.

Later this evening, Manchester City have the chance to close the gap at the top when they travel to Tottenham for the 4.30pm kick-off.

Tennis

Carlos Alcaraz has completed a career Grand Slam, becoming the youngest man to do so after beating Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final.

The 22-year-old recovered from losing the opening set to win 2–6, 6–2, 6–3, 7–5, claiming his first title in Melbourne and denying Djokovic a record 25th major.

It is Alcaraz’s fourth different Grand Slam triumph, which seals his place among the game’s greats.
