It's truly Christmas time when the World Darts Championship gets underway.
During the opening evening, the Irish were well represented with Meath's Keane Barry putting in a fine performance to defeat Kim Huybrechts 3-1 to set up a round two clash against former world champion Gerwyn Price tonight - Monday, December 16.
Meanwhile, Mayo even got a shoutout during Sunday's live airing on Sky Sports in the night's final game, when reigning world champion Luke Humphries took on Thibault Tricole - a match which Humphries comfortably won 3-0.
As Tricole's walk-on music started, a board was raised with the words "Mayo 4 Sam" sketched onto it.

The renowned saying has been spotted all over the world, and it was no different in Ally Pally during the opening night of the darts!
