The Oscar Traynor Cup final in Milebush. The result was disappointing but still, a great occasion for soccer in the county.

A bittersweet one but Rafa Nadal’s retirement from tennis. The sport’s golden era really feels like it’s now over.

Three. I’m very much on the fence with all the new rules.

He has his work cut out for him. Small progress made but a long road ahead.

Kerry. They won it this year after a couple of near misses. The floodgates might open.

Arteta. After all the money Arsenal have spent, he has to win a trophy or he’s gone.

Who will win the World Darts Championship?

I hoped it would be Michael Smith, for the simple reason that I put a bet on him before the tournament started. He was gone after Round 2!

Will Noel and Liam Gallagher be the only Mayo men to play a big day out in Croke Park next year?

I’ve more faith that they will have another falling out and cancel their reunion before it even starts.

What local club player would you like to see get their opportunity on the Mayo panel in 2025?

Cian McHale. Crying out for a left-footed free taker for years.

What is your favourite sports movie or documentary?

The Last Dance. Planning to watch it again over Christmas.

With MacHale Park opening up to other sports being played there, what sport or event should take place next at the home of Mayo GAA?

Rugby. Great it’s getting its chance in March.

What sport do you intend to watch more of in 2025?

Basketball. Have enjoyed covering the local scene and plan to take in more.

Will Liverpool stay the course and win the Premier League or lose out?

If they get some reinforcements in January in midfield, they can stay the course. As a fan, I hope so!

Now they are both past the peak of their powers, settle it once and for all – Ronaldo or Messi?

Messi. How it’s been a discussion for so long is beyond me.

The Neale’s Tom Lydon. The next breakout star for Mayo football.
