Time change for Merry Monk's last game of 2024

Just four days after St Muredach’s national semi-final cup win, much of that team was back in action for Merry Monk Ballina in their second U20 National League game last Sunday against Titans in Colaiste Iognaid. In a rollercoaster battle, Merry Monk edged it 69-66 after a nail-biter.

A fierce opening saw Merry Monk lead 30-22 after the first period, Theo Daly impressive for Merry Monk with 11 points of his 16 coming in this quarter. Titans charged back in the second thanks to an eight-point run as the game was tied 38-38 at half-time.

Mark Cunningham was in inspired form in the third with, scoring nine as Merry Monk went 56-50 going into the final quarter. Titans fought valiantly as both exchanged blows but Conor Burke’s crucial free-throws and a late three-pointer sealed a great win.

The U20s will have their final game of 2024 this Saturday evening at 6pm against Killorgin (Kerry) in the Ballina Sports Complex, which will see the club hold the Christmas Raffle. Tickets for the raffle cost €10. To enter, visit the Ballina Braves Basketball Club Facebook page.
