Sister Act in Connacht Senior League Final

Sisters Gráinne and Aisling Hahessy after Tuam/Oughterard Colts defeated University of Galway in the Connacht Women's Senior League this year. The side's will meet again on Sunday in the final.

Two sisters from Mayo will be on opposing sides in the Bank of Ireland Connacht Women's Senior League Final on Sunday.

Reignings champions Tuam/Ougherard Colts will face University of Galway after yesterday's semi-finals.

Tuam/Oughterard Colts ran in ten tries as they hammered Sligo 56-0 in Garraun Park, Tuam, while University of Galway overcame Westport 15-12 in a close battle in Dangan.

There will be divided loyalties in the Hahessy household, as Claremorris sisters Gráinne and Aisling Hahessy will be on opposing teams on Sunday, as Gráinne plays for the Colts, while Aisling captains University of Galway.

It's been a busy few weeks for Gráinne, reaching the All-Ireland Junior Cup Final with her club, while she helped Mount St Michael Secondary School reach a Connacht schools' final.

Sunday's final will take place on Sunday next at 1pm, venue is still to be confirmed.
