Pearl’s rich form rewarded in Carlow
Moy Valley AC's Pearl Sands.
Athletics: Moy Valley AC racewalker Pearl Sands travelled to Carlow SETU on Saturday afternoon for the Tailteann Games to represent St Joseph's Secondary School, Castlebar. In a stacked field of talented racewalkers, Pearl raced smart to take first place in a very tactical race. Pearl was also presented with the Roisin O'Callaghan Memorial Cup for the best overall racewalker on the day.
Pearl goes on to represent Ireland in the SIAB championships in England on July 19. It was a very proud day for the Sands' family and for Pearl’s coach Deirdre Gallagher.
