Moy Valley shines at Connacht Cross Country Championships

In a display of talent and teamwork, Moy Valley Athletic Club made waves at the recent Connacht Cross Country Championships. The club proudly entered teams in every race, showcasing the depth of its talent pool, the dedication of club coaches and the enthusiasm of its athletes.

The teams did extremely well across various categories, reflecting months of hard work, as the athletes tackled tough terrain and formidable competitors with grit and determination.

In addition to the club's overall strong performance, Moy Valley Athletic Club celebrated individual victories that brought home three gold medals. Young athletes Grace Tighe, Kyle Molloy, and Aoife Blewitt showcased exceptional skill and determination, each finishing at the top of their categories. The club had a number of top 12 finishes and this ensured Moy Valley athletes are on Connaught teams for the All-Ireland championships.

Alongside these individual victories, Moy Valley's teams excelled across various age groups, earning a remarkable array of medals.

The girls teams finished as follows: U10 girls team won, U12 girls team secured silver, U14 girls team also took silver and the U16 Girls team won bronze.

The boys' teams finished as follows: U10 boys team claimed gold, U12 boys team also won gold U14 boys team added yet another gold and the U16 boys team won silver.

One of the club coaches, Seán Gallagher, also ran the Senior/Masters event over 6k in which he finished 9th overall and second in his age category.

These outstanding team results highlight the comprehensive coaching and supportive environment within Moy Valley Athletic Club, which continues to foster a passion for athletics in every age group.
