Milebush Park, headquarters of the Mayo Football League, will soon be known as Umbro Park Milebush, as the two organisations have agreed a sponsorship agreement.

From 1924 to the present day, Umbro has been a household name with sporting heroes throughout the world including the Ireland National Football Teams on many historic days.

"Our agreement with the Mayo Football League for the naming rights to Milebush Park will run for an initial three years. We are delighted with this partnership and look forward to collaborating with all involved to support grassroots football initiatives,” Umbro said in a statement.

Seamus Hughes, Chairperson of the Mayo Football League, said: "The Mayo Football League is delighted to announce our partnership with Umbro Ireland. In Umbro we have a partner with a strong brand that is at the leading edge in sportswear in the country. On behalf of Mayo Football League I would like to welcome our new partners who have deep roots in the community and in soccer. Umbro is a well-known and reputable company and we look forward to working with them for many years to come I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Solar 21 for their unwavering and continued support over many years that has led to some large development at the home of Mayo soccer.

"Umbro’s investment will allow us to continue on our journey of constantly improving our facilities at the League Headquarters and thereby benefiting the boys and girls, men and women of Mayo, both young and old, for generations to come.”

Mr Hughes went on to thank Donal Benson and Tom McDaniel from the League for their invaluable contribution in securing the new deal.

The sponsorship arrangement will be officially launched on Monday night next (February 5) at the TF Royal Hotel & Theatre, Castlebar along with the launch of the Elverys Sports Super League and the McDonnell Construction League Two ahead of the new season which commences on February 25.
