Mayo man wins championship belt on All-Ireland Final weekend
Mayo had another champion at the weekend in Ballina man Dylan Rice
There was even more success for Mayo sport last weekend when Ballina man Dylan Rice won the NAGA Ultra heavyweight Masters Expert division.
Dylan won two matches by two submissions in the division, hitting an armbar and guillotine to take home the iconic NAGA strap in Dublin last Saturday.
The Ballina native narrowly lost out in the open weight to a seasoned black belt by a single score.
He was competing as part of the team from SBG Ballina.
These recent wins come after he had double gold-medal success at the Irish Open Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships, held in Dublin in May, when he advanced to representing Ireland in the European Open Jiu-Jitsu Championships, which will take place in Rome next October.
Dylan's victories in the competition marked the start of an incredible weekend for sport in the county with the Mayo senior team winning the All-Ireland Final on Sunday.
Both the NAGA Ultra heavyweight Masters Expert division belt, and the Sam Maguire Cup were taken from Dublin back to Mayo after last weekend.
