Mayo golfer earns international call-up

One of Mayo’s brightest golf talents has been picked for the Ireland Boys’ team ahead of their trip to Golf Resort Kaskada Brno in the Czech Republic for the European Amateur Team Championship.
Ballyhaunis golfer John William Burke joins Caelan Coleman (Galway Bay), Adam Fahey (Portmarnock), Louis Goodman (Co Louth), Isaac Oliver (Glasson) and William O’Riordan (Greystones) as part of a six-man team. Tuam’s Damien Coyne is captain.
The event takes place from July 8 to 12, there will be two rounds of stroke play on the first two days before match play, with the eight teams who are still in contention for a medal then playing two foursomes and five singles, as the Final takes place on Saturday, July 12.
